Can we please reiterate to all managers and club secretaries there are very clear rules on how many players can take part on match days.
These rules were agreed and signed off at your AGM on 24 June 2013.
Under 7 & 8s
Play 5v5, the maximum amount of players allowed on a match day is 8
Under 9 & 10s
Play 7v7, the maximum amount of players allowed on a match day is 12
There are no circumstances where teams may use more than the permitted numbers on a match day.
This rule has been in place for over 4 months now, teams who breach this rule will be dealt with by the league committee.
Following the fixtures played on the weekend of 21/22 September the fixture secretary emailed all club secretaries regarding the poor result reporting by team managers.
There are currently over a dozen fixtures where we have no result reported and this will not be allowed to continue.
All team managers from Under 7s, 8s, 9s and 10s have a responsibility to follow the league rules. There are clear procedures in place to report a result, this must be done by:
- The HOME team manager
- Text immediately after the fixture, or by the agreed deadline OR
- Using the appropriate Online Form, this is available on the menu above when you sign in.
On Monday 30 September there will be an audit of all missing results, those of which are still outstanding as of 01 October 2013 will see that club issued with a fine as per league rules for each instance.
If you wish to check if your results have been received, visit our Full Time Pages, and simply look at the ‘Upcoming fixtures’ for your age group/league. Those with ‘old’ dates are awaiting results.
This will be the final opportunity to catch up and adhere to league rules in future, as of October, any result not reported in accordance with agreed procedures, will see immediate fines issued.
Please make sure you contact the fixture secretary to get your fixtures and results in order.
Newcastle Mini Soccer League Secretary
We would like to remind all managers of the official FA Rule regarding the retreat line in Mini Soccer.
The FA have made the following ruling mandatory for all Mini Soccer games involving U7, U8, U9 and U10s:
Law 16 – Goal Kick
A player of the defending team kicks the ball from any point within the penalty area. Opponents must retreat to their own half until the ball is in play. The defending team does not have to wait for the opposition to retreat and has the option to restart the game before should they choose to.
The ball is in play when it is kicked directly out the penalty area.
We would also point out that when taking a centre kick at the start of play or after a goal has been scored, this rule has not changed and remains that:
- The ball must be played forward
- A goal can not be scored directly from the start / re-start of play
The Newcastle Mini Soccer League have published the first round of fixtures on our Full Time pages.
Fixtures for the Under 10s are now listed, but please note due to YD Cup games on 8 Sept some fixtures may be subject to change.
The Under 9s commence with a midweek fixture w/c Monday 9 Sept before all teams retain Sunday fixtures (there will be no Saturday League). Teams will play each other either home or away once before splitting in to City Development Groups and competing for the CD Trophies.
U7/8 CYD Festival is Saturday 14 September
The Under 8s commence with a midweek game w/c Monday 2 Sept then revert to Saturday fixtures. Teams will play each other either home or away initially before splitting in to groups.
The Under 7s will start Saturday 7 September with further games planned on 21 Sept. Teams will initially only play home or away.
Team managers are asked to register on this site prior to the start of the season.
This is the ONLY way managers can obtain contact details, however it also relies upon each club to ensure their managers have registered.
There is a very basic user guide here
Please make sure your TEAM NAME does NOT include the age and matches what is registered with the league – as listed on Full Time here
