The Newcastle Mini Soccer localandtrusted.com League would like to announce as of Monday 28 November, we will start accepting nominations for players to attend a selection process to represent our league in a series of friendlies against academies.
We shall provide representative teams at both Under 9 and Under 10.
Players must be nominated by their club secretary to the league and they will attend two selection days after which the squads shall be chosen. See below for more details on the nomination process.
Selection day 1: Saturday 10 December 2011
Under 9 players meet at 11.30am for registration, 12noon start at Swans Recreation Ground (East End)
Under 10 players meet at 12noon for registration, 12.30pm start at The Manor (Heaton Hawks)
Players must be available to attend the first session above and only players nominated may attend on the day.
Nominations
The league will only accept player nominations from a club secretary or an appointed person. All communications regarding the process shall then be confined between the league and this person.
Each CLUB may nominate a maximum of four players per age group only
All players must be nominated on the approved form (one form for each age group)
A link to the nomination forms shall be sent by the league via email to each club secretary and the nominations shall be accepted from Monday 28 November up to and including Monday 5 December.
It will be the clubs initial responsibility to ensure nominated players and their parents / guardians are aware of the selection process and timings for the selection days.
The process
We feel this is a great opportunity for selected players to enter an environment where exposure to academy style coaching and philosophies can help a players development. Clubs have the right to chose whether to nominate players if they wish to do so, however the league have no influence over how these players are chosen by the clubs.
Each squad shall consist of no more than 2 players from any one club at any one age group.
The coaching team for each squad shall present a final list of between 10-12 players to the League Committee for registration as representative players.
Each squad shall have a minimum of two qualified coaches in charge of training and match day situations, each coaching team shall be nominated a committee representative to act as their liaison in terms of administration and support.
Representative squad training sessions shall take place at least once a month and agreed in advance to minimise impact upon club/team coaching sessions. Where fixtures are arranged however the squad shall be expected to attend a pre match training session in the week leading up to the fixture.
Fixtures may be held at academies and therefore could be on 3 or 4G pitches.
The league shall supply each player with a full kit and showerproof jacket to represent the league during official fixtures.
